Objectives
Empowering Next-Generation Advocates for a Better Environment
The ENABLE project is dedicated to empowering young people—especially those from marginalized and vulnerable communities—to become active agents of change in the fight against climate change. Through inclusive education, capacity-building and meaningful policy engagement, ENABLE fosters climate literacy, civic participation and social equity. By breaking down systemic barriers and amplifying youth voices in climate governance, the project promotes a sustainable, just and democratic future rooted in European values and solidarity.
- Promote Meaningful Youth Participation in Climate Governance
ENABLE seeks to empower young people aged 18–30—especially those from marginalized and vulnerable backgrounds—to engage meaningfully in decision-making processes related to climate justice and environmental policy at local, national and EU levels. - Enhance Climate Literacy and Civic Engagement
The project aims to strengthen the civic and climate-related competences of youth through targeted educational modules, leadership training and participatory policy dialogues. - Foster Inclusive Climate Action
ENABLE actively promotes equity by targeting youth who face social, economic, geographic, or cultural exclusion—particularly girls, indigenous youth and youth from migrant or rural backgrounds. - Bridge Gaps Between Youth and Policymaking
The project facilitates interactions between youth and policymakers through policy hackathons, participatory research and consultation forums, helping youth influence climate strategies and policies. - Combat Structural Barriers to Youth Engagement
ENABLE aims to identify and address systemic barriers—such as lack of access, discrimination, or institutional exclusion—that hinder young people’s participation in environmental and democratic life. - Develop a Framework for Assessing Youth Participation
The project builds a model to evaluate the levels, roles and impact of youth participation in climate governance, ensuring that involvement is not symbolic but transformative. - Support Cross-Sector Collaboration for Youth Empowerment
ENABLE encourages partnerships between youth organizations, NGOs, foundations and public authorities to co-create impactful environmental solutions and policy proposals. - Raise Awareness of the Climate Crisis and Its Impact on Youth
The project highlights how climate change disproportionately affects young people, especially those from disadvantaged communities, and emphasizes the importance of youth-led responses. - Strengthen European Values through Sustainability and Solidarity
By fostering environmental responsibility, inclusivity, and civic action, ENABLE contributes to building a cohesive and sustainable European identity. - Ensure Long-Term Youth Engagement and Leadership Development
The project invests in the long-term capacity of youth to act as climate advocates, ensuring they carry forward sustainable practices and democratic participation well beyond the project lifecycle.
