About us

The ENABLE project (Empowering Next-Generation Advocates for a Better Environment) is a CERV-2023-CITIZENS-CIV, EU funded project aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, unanimously embraced by UN member states in 2015. It focuses on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that call for global cooperation to address poverty, healthcare, education, inequality, economic progress, climate change and environmental preservation. This project highlights just how important it is to stay committed to tackling the climate crisis—with both ambition and a real sense of inclusion. It puts a strong focus on educating and involving young people, who are among the most affected by climate change. Their different backgrounds and life experiences bring fresh, valuable perspectives to the table. For climate action to truly work, young people need to be part of the conversation—not just as participants, but as key voices shaping decisions.

ENABLE is about exploring what youth participation in climate governance really means today. It looks at the barriers young people face, like inequality and systemic discrimination, and aims to find better, fairer ways for them to get involved and make an impact. It pays special attention to marginalized youth, including girls, indigenous youth, and those facing social and economic challenges. The project targets individuals aged 18-30, fostering civic engagement and climate justice advocacy. It collaborates with youth organizations, NGOs, foundations, and public authorities in EU countries, contributing to global cooperation, sustainable development and youth empowerment. ENABLE is a meaningful step toward tackling the climate crisis, recognizing both how urgent the issue is and how closely it’s tied to the Sustainable Development Goals. At its heart, the project believes in the power of young people to drive real change. It focuses on making climate action more inclusive, encouraging civic participation, and building lasting solutions. By supporting youth to get involved and lead, ENABLE helps shape a new generation of climate-aware citizens committed to building a fairer, more sustainable future.
